Description:
The Digital Input Device is an electronic device to connect pulse, switch or encoder based digital signals to CANbus. The device connects 4 Digital On/Off sensors or 2 Frequency Inputs and 1 rotary encoder.
Examples for Digital Signal based sensors are:
- Hall sensors
- Proximiters, Namur
- Reed contacts, switches
- Binary shaft encoders
- Pulses / Frequency
The Digital Input device converts and processes these signals to CANbus messages. The device can be configured via the iConfigure software. With the basic configuration capacity you can configure signal processes inside the device to perform any control and process task you can imagine. Event driven situations can be handled up to a 100ths of a second, and with the non volatile storage, data values can be stored. Sensors are connected via the Squarell sensor cables. Sensor supply is integrated in the cable and with iConfigure the voltage is set during configuration. Sensors can be purchased from any supplier, if required we can advise you in selecting the right sensor type.
Smart sensor technology.
The sensor cables can be equipped with a 1-wire chip where configuration data and physical specs of the sensor are stored. The Digital Sensor Device reads this information and adapts the signal conversion automatically. This makes an "connect and go" installation possible. Squarell has several ready to use sensor cables for temperature measurement with smart sensor technology. Squarell can program your sensor characteristics in the sensor cables on request.
