The Trailer Axle Weight for Volvo Kit is a special developed product to show the Total axle weight of  the trailer axles in the dashboard display of the Volvo Truck. The kit requires no calibration. The installation can only be performed by Volvo dealers using the VECADS configuration system.

Therfor this product can only be purchased by Volvo dealers or workshops with VECADS workshop systems.

 

How it works:

For the trailer system signals are tapped from the bulkhead wiring of the Volvo. This signal is read via a Squarell 6608-21 device and converted into J1939. This signal is then converted to J1708 via the Squarell 6627-21 device.

The J1708 message is then displayed on the second page of the weight information screen on the dashboard. The last weight is the trailer total axle weight.

Haldex:

• EB+ braking systems with software version B420-B440 or above
• When values are incorrect: Calibration of the axle weights via trailer diagnostics Haldex

 

Knorr:

• TEBS G2 braking systems
• When values are incorrect: Calibration of the axle weights via trailer diagnostics Knorr

 

Wabco

• All EBS braking systems from 1998
• When values are incorrect: Configuration via Wabco diagnostics systems.
• Lifted axles require special care at calibration (Wabco instructions must be observed)
