The telematics development kit includes all products required to create state of the art CANbus interfaces. The kit includes software, hardware (device), cables, instruction to install, simulation and test functions. This is the most efficient way to start with CANbus for you telematics platform.

This interfaces is included:

  • 1 telematics interface with FMS

These products are described in the corresponding sections.

 Software included:

  • iConfigure software, this is the development and test environment . With this software you are able to change the RS232 protocol, add new functions.
  • CANbus simulation tool to send CANbus data for simulation purposes
  • CANbus recording tool to record CANbus data from vehicles / FMS interfaces to use it for simulation and testing
  • Graphical tool to analyse CANbus. This is part of the simulation feature
  • Ready to use configurations (DCF) with protocol descriptions
  • Simulation file for testing FMS data sources

What does the Squarell telematics interface do with the data?
Squarell does more then just streaming the data to the RS232 port. Squarell processes the data via advanced algorithms inside the interface.
These algorithms provide you with exact and important data to accomplish advanced fleet management. In the list we show you some data generated by the telematics interface. This can be extended on a project basis. We are continuously developing more routines and can advise you how to accomplish a unique CANbus fleet management solution.

How is the data send over RS232?
The protocol to send the streamed and processed data over RS232 can be configured to the specification of the customer. The data is send on interval basis, but together the customer can define:

  • Baud rate, stop bits, parity
  • Checksum (HDLC-PPP, CCITT16, proprietary)
  • Handshake (CTS/DTR)
  • Sending data on request of the telematics/PC
  • Sending when a event occurs (f.e. harsh braking)
  • Sending on interval (f.e. streaming actual data)
  • The 3 above combined for every data type or set of data
  • Threshold settings (f.e. maximum idling time)
  • Calibration routines
RS232, USB, Bluetooth, ZIGbee.
The standard product supports the RS232 communication over a D-sub9 connector or via a Serial to USB interface. On request wireless connectivity over Bluetooth or ZIGbee are supported.

Services.
The configuration options are very easy and fast to implement. That means that from start to working finish you are less then a few days away. We have all services available to help you start up your CANbus projects.
