Introduction

Squarell has a special service for telematics companies to support FMS vehicle data from vehicles or equipment which are not on our vehicle support list.

This service will give you the Squarell FMS1/J19392 interface support on the vehicle. The cost of the investigation is partly billed (cost sharing principle).

The data investigated is listed below. Depending on the vehicle type some of the data items cannot be supported.

  •  Odometer
  • Vehicle speed
  • RPM
  • Brake
  • Accelerator
  • Clutch pedal
  • Cruise control on/off
  • Fuel consumption Total
  • Fuel consumption Actual
  • Fuel level
  • Engine temperature
  • Torque
  • On request we can investigate other signals

Activities

  • Investigation of documentation and wiring diagrams
  • Measurements on the vehicle
  • Vehicle adaptation of the DCF
  • Document the installation procedures
  • Internal and external testing

To perform the measurement and development tasks in an efficient way, the aspects hereunder should be covered by the Customer

  • Availability of the test vehicle for measurements: 1 day
  • Availability of the test vehicle for installation: 2 hours
  • Test phase at customer for 1 week (data transmission via telematics)
  • Fuel costs during measurements and testing
  • Availability of a driver during certain parts of the test

 

 

1. The Fleet Management Systems Interface (FMS) is a standard interface to vehicle data of commercial vehicles developed by the six European Truck manufacturers Daimler AG, MAN AG, Scania, Volvo (incl. Renault), DAF Trucks and IVECO.

 

2. J1939 is the vehicle bus standard used for communication and diagnostics among vehicle components, originally by the car and heavy duty truck industry in the United States.
